Manhattan Associates Inc. (NASDAQ: MANH) has announced successful results from its partnership with Hy-Vee, Inc., a Midwest-based, employee-owned grocery retailer. Hy-Vee has implemented Manhattan’s Warehouse Management System (WMS), Transportation Management System (TMS), and Demand Forecasting and Inventory Optimization (DFIO) to build an efficient and high-performing distribution network that boosts business outcomes and customer satisfaction.
Working with Manhattan, Hy-Vee has optimized its entire distribution and transportation operations. Manhattan’s solutions have streamlined Hy-Vee’s processes, enhancing product flow from inbound receipt to outbound delivery, as well as case and pallet handling. Using Manhattan’s WMS, Hy-Vee has improved slotting and warehouse efficiency, increasing productivity across its three main warehouses over the past year.
Manhattan’s TMS has supported Hy-Vee’s transportation network, helping to maximize cube utilization on outbound loads and improve backhaul management. More efficient truck routing has enabled Hy-Vee to enhance route planning across thousands of miles, resulting in better on-time delivery rates. Hy-Vee also leverages the TMS’s cross-docking feature to seamlessly move goods from inbound to outbound trucks within the warehouse.
Additionally, Hy-Vee uses Manhattan’s DFIO to more accurately predict future demand. This application played a pivotal role during the COVID-19 pandemic, as Manhattan’s machine learning capabilities helped Hy-Vee distinguish between regular demand patterns and pandemic-induced spikes. This precision enabled Hy-Vee to make well-informed purchasing decisions and create accurate forecasts.
