TNS Collaborates with Australian Payment Industry to Launch PCI-DSS Certified COIN Network

Transaction Network Services (TNS) has partnered with the Australian payments industry to introduce a fully managed infrastructure for the Australian Payment Network’s (AusPayNet) Community of Interest Network (COIN). The COIN is a high-availability, managed network designed for the secure transmission of payment files and transactions. Serving as a collaborative core infrastructure, it aims to shape the future of Australia’s low-value payments and provides an alternative to traditional point-to-point connectivity between payment participants. Currently, the COIN supports network services for cheques, direct entry, domestic cards, and BPAY bill payments.

“We are thrilled to be selected by AusPayNet and its members as the exclusive partner for COIN’s payment infrastructure,” said Michael Johnson, Managing Director of FinTech Solutions, APAC, at TNS Payments Market.

“Our carrier-agnostic, managed solution uses the latest SD-WAN technology and offers a 99.999% availability commitment. The TNS Managed COIN Payment Network enhances security, resilience, and availability, while simplifying access, onboarding, and providing better visibility into network performance, all within a PCI-DSS certified environment.”

The transition to the new TNS-managed COIN network has been completed, ensuring scalability and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of members and the broader payments ecosystem.

“Partnering with TNS for a significantly improved COIN network aligns with our goal of maintaining a secure, stable, and efficient payments network,” said Andy White, CEO of AusPayNet. “With TNS, we’ve achieved a future-proof solution that ensures critical reliability and resiliency.”

Every BECS debit, eftpos, BPAY, and cheque transaction in Australia now relies on TNS’ end-to-end managed network service for the secure transmission of real-time authorization and settlement files. TNS’ PCI-DSS certified, multi-carrier solution optimizes performance, increases network availability, and is supported by four global Network Operating Centers in Australia, the US, the UK, and Malaysia, operating 24/7/365. The service also features an online portal for real-time management, visibility, and reporting.
