DP World, a global leader in logistics and supply chain solutions, is set to significantly expand its presence in Brazil by establishing six new freight forwarding offices by 2026. This move underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening end-to-end supply chain solutions across Latin America.
The expansion plan includes the launch of four offices in 2025, strategically located in Campinas, Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, and Porto Alegre. Two additional offices are slated for 2026 in the North and Northeast regions. This initiative is projected to generate 150 new jobs in sales, operations, and administrative roles, boosting local economic development.
The new offices will enhance DP World’s ability to provide comprehensive logistics services, including sea freight (both FCL and LCL), air freight, domestic container road transport, international insurance, and customs clearance. By expanding its network, DP World aims to seamlessly connect goods from factories to end customers.
Over the next five years, DP World’s freight forwarding operations in Brazil are expected to handle approximately 75,000 TEUs annually. This growth builds on the momentum of recent office openings in Santos, São Paulo, and Itajaí earlier in 2024, which have already begun to transform trade logistics in the region.
Leveraging its extensive global network of ports, terminals, and value-added services, DP World is solidifying its position as a premier logistics provider dedicated to streamlining the cargo cycle for customers.
Fábio Siccherino, CEO of DP World in Brazil, stated:
DP World has played a pivotal role in modernizing Brazil’s logistics infrastructure, particularly through its operation of one of the nation’s largest private terminals at the Port of Santos. This terminal currently handles 1.4 million TEUs annually, with ongoing expansions set to boost capacity to 2.1 million TEUs per year.
Additionally, DP World’s partnership with Rumo to develop a new grain and fertilizer terminal at the port is expected to enhance bulk handling capacity by 12.5 million tons annually.
This Brazilian expansion aligns with DP World’s broader strategy to bolster its global freight forwarding footprint. Since mid-2023, the company has launched over 200 freight forwarding offices worldwide, including 20 across the Americas. Operations in Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and Suriname are already operational, with upcoming offices planned for the United States, Mexico City, and Buenos Aires.
