Ingram Barge Company LLC has officially introduced Ingram Infrastructure Group LLC as a groundbreaking addition to its corporate structure, focusing on material handling and supply chain solutions. This strategic move comes on the heels of Ingram’s successful acquisitions of Inland River Transport Holdings LLC (SCF) and NexStar Solutions LLC(NexStar), signifying a substantial expansion in both services and assets.
The acquisition of SCF, a leading provider of integrated river transportation and logistics services, from SEACOR Holdings Inc. (SEACOR) was finalized following the signing of a purchase agreement last October. Ingram, currently operating across over 4,500 miles of the U.S. inland waterways system, transporting a variety of essential agriculture and industrial commodities, is set to leverage its marine transportation expertise to evolve into a fully integrated, end-to-end supply chain solutions provider.
With these acquisitions, Ingram adds eight new terminal locations to its portfolio, facilitating bulk, break-bulk, and containerized storage and handling services with seamless connectivity to marine, rail, and road transportation. This expansion into the terminals business positions Ingram to offer comprehensive multi-modal and multi-product distribution solutions for North American shippers and consignees.
John Roberts, President, and CEO of Ingram expressed, “Today’s announcements are the latest moves that show our continued commitment to add value for our customers, bring on new customers, and expand the services we can offer.”
In addition to the SCF acquisition, Ingram has also acquired NexStar Solutions LLC, an industry leader in logistics infrastructure consulting. The senior leadership team from NexStar, including Bill Kinzeler, Daniel Lester, and Frank Prentiss, has joined Ingram Infrastructure LLC. Together, they bring over 60 years of industry experience, specializing in managing terminal assets, railroads, and trucking assets, providing comprehensive advisory services to investors, governments, and organizations.
Aaron Barrett, Chief Operating Officer of Ingram, stated, “We are going to set the standard of excellence in marine, road and rail transportation and distribution. We are excited to marry our deep marine transportation knowledge and track record with additional capacity in material handling and supply chain solutions.”
The creation of Ingram Infrastructure is part of a broader initiative to expand the suite of services offered to customers. With the recent launch of Ingram Logistics Services in 2021, providing a single point of contact for customized logistics services, the addition of Ingram Infrastructure enhances the vision of end-to-end supply chain solutions. This new suite of services is poised to become the most comprehensive storage and distribution solution in North America, offering innovation and brand protection for complex supply chains through a combination of assets, non-assets resources, vast commodity experience, and forward-thinking technologies.
