CN Commits $110 Million Investment in Wisconsin to Boost Capacity and Support Sustainable Growth

CN (TSX: CNR) (NYSE: CNI) has announced plans to invest approximately US$110 million in Wisconsin as part of its 2025 capital investment program. This funding will be directed toward critical infrastructure upgrades, track maintenance, capacity enhancements, and technology improvements to strengthen network reliability and safety across the state.

The investment aims to bolster the safe movement of goods and support long-term, sustainable growth throughout CN’s network, including the strategic Chicago corridor.

Don Vruwink, Wisconsin Commissioner of Railroads, added: “CN’s infrastructure upgrades in Wisconsin contribute to safer rail crossings and more dependable service. These improvements ensure that Wisconsin communities remain connected, competitive, and safe.”

2024 Highlights

In 2024, CN also invested approximately US$110 million in Wisconsin, supporting vital rail infrastructure and maintenance projects. Key highlights included:

  • US$3.5 million for new vehicles and equipment under a multi-year fleet renewal program.
  • US$1.5 million for operational improvements at CN’s Stevens Point railyard.
