Maersk and Saudi Post Forge Strategic Partnership to Boost Global eCommerce Operations in Saudi Arabia

The new alliance leverages global logistics expertise and local market leadership to reshape eCommerce supply chains across Saudi Arabia and the GCC region.

Maersk and Saudi Post Forge Strategic Alliance to Strengthen eCommerce Logistics in Saudi Arabia and the GCC

Maersk Saudi Arabia (Maersk) and Saudi Post Company (SPL) have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a transformative partnership aimed at enhancing logistics and supply chain services for global eCommerce businesses entering or operating in Saudi Arabia and potentially across the wider GCC region.

Unlocking Synergies to Deliver End-to-End Logistics Solutions

This partnership brings together Saudi Post’s extensive domestic logistics expertise with Maersk’s global shipping and supply chain capabilities. By integrating Saudi Post’s nationwide distribution network—aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals—with Maersk’s expansive international logistics infrastructure, the two companies will deliver a seamless, world-class eCommerce fulfilment solution.

“We are excited to collaborate with Saudi Post, whose distribution network across the Kingdom is unmatched. Together, we’re creating a fully integrated logistics offering tailored to meet the growing demand for efficient eCommerce fulfilment in Saudi Arabia. Our global ocean network, combined with our newly launched Integrated Logistics Park in Jeddah, positions us to support businesses looking to enter or expand in the region,”
Ahmed Al Olaby, Director, Maersk Saudi Arabia

“This strategic partnership between SPL and Maersk marks a major step in streamlining cross-border eCommerce flows to and from Saudi Arabia and the broader GCC. It enhances regional connectivity, operational reliability, and opens up new growth opportunities,”
Rouni Saad, International Business Sales Director, SPL Group

Integrated Logistics Framework

Under the new partnership, Saudi Post will oversee in-Kingdom operations—including express customs clearance and last-mile delivery—while Maersk will manage origin services, international shipping, and bonded fulfilment. A central component of this collaboration is Maersk’s new state-of-the-art Integrated Logistics Park in Jeddah, which will serve as a major operational hub, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s role as a regional logistics powerhouse.

Areas of Strategic Collaboration

The MoU outlines cooperation across four key areas:

  • Technology & System Integration: Seamless digital connectivity between Maersk and SPL platforms
  • Joint Marketing & Commercial Strategy: Collaborative market entry and promotional initiatives targeting global businesses
  • Customer Service Excellence: Coordinated processes to ensure smooth transitions and superior service
  • Operational Efficiency: Increased capacity and streamlined logistics to better serve joint clients

Supporting Saudi Vision 2030

This partnership is aligned with the goals of Vision 2030, aiming to modernize Saudi Arabia’s logistics landscape, boost the eCommerce sector, and promote international trade. By offering reliable, scalable logistics services, the collaboration is expected to attract global eCommerce players to establish a presence in the Kingdom.

Ultimately, this strategic alliance reflects both Maersk and Saudi Post’s shared commitment to innovation, customer-centric service, and positioning Saudi Arabia as a premier logistics and eCommerce hub for the Middle East.
