FITUR 2024: Global Tourism Surges to Record Highs

The 44th edition of the International Tourism Trade Fair, FITUR, is set to take place in Madrid in January organized by IFEMA MADRID. This event mirrors the recent growth in the national and international tourism industry, laying the groundwork for sector consolidation in 2024.

As a cornerstone in the international tourism fair calendar, FITUR asserts its leadership position with widespread support from public and private stakeholders across the tourism value chain. Anticipating record-breaking figures, the fair will host 9,000 participating companies, representing 152 countries, and feature 806 exhibitors across nine halls, one more than in 2023.

Expectations for attendee turnout are high, with an estimated 150,000 professional visitors from Wednesday to Friday and 100,000 general public attendees over the weekend.

International participation is a key focus, with 152 country representations, including 96 official destination showcases, contributing to FITUR’s global appeal. The fair aligns with the latest forecasts from the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), projecting a recovery to nearly 90% of pre-pandemic international tourism levels and potential revenues reaching 1.4 trillion dollars by 2023.

FITUR Sports takes center stage, organized in collaboration with AFYDAD and globally sponsored by FRANCE 2024 OLYMPIC AND SPORTS DESTINATION.

Continuing its digital advancement, FITUR enhances accessibility by streaming conference programs for all sections and offering the FITUR Live Connect digital platform for professional participants.
