Freightos Limited, the leading independent global freight booking and payment platform, today announced significant changes to its board of directors aimed at strengthening its strategic leadership and technological expertise as it scales operations in the digital freight sector.
Effective July 28, 2025, Udo Lange, a seasoned logistics industry executive and board member since 2019, has been appointed Non-Executive Chairman of the Board. Simultaneously, Freightos welcomes Rotem Hershko, a veteran of global technology and logistics platforms, as its newest board director.
These appointments come at a pivotal moment for Freightos, following a series of major initiatives that signal the company’s deepening influence in global freight digitization. With over two decades of experience in transforming supply chains through digital innovation, both Lange and Hershko bring critical insights to guide the company as it continues to reshape how freight is booked, managed, and paid for globally.
Udo Lange: From Logistics Veteran to Freightos Chairman
Udo Lange is no stranger to the complex and rapidly evolving world of global logistics. Currently serving as CEO of Stolt-Nielsen Limited, an Oslo-listed global transportation and storage provider, Lange’s three-decade career spans leadership roles across courier, ground, and international freight logistics.
Lange previously held executive leadership roles at FedEx, where he served as President of Healthcare, Logistics and Americas International. He was also a member of the FedEx Senior Management Committee, contributing to global logistics strategies and overseeing multimodal transportation solutions. His tenure included advising the White House Supply Chain Disruption Task Force, demonstrating his deep understanding of macro-level supply chain challenges and policy frameworks.
Having served on the Freightos board since 2019, Lange brings a unique combination of operational expertise and long-term strategic perspective.
I am honored that Zvi and the Freightos Board elected me as Non-Executive Chairman,” said Lange. Together with Zvi and the rest of the Freightos team, I look forward to supporting the company’s mission of transforming global freight through technology. Freightos stands at the forefront of the freight tech revolution, and with our recent initiatives like the acquisition of Shipsta and the launch of Freightos Enterprise, we’re strengthening our position as a neutral, comprehensive platform for digital logistics.”
As Chairman, Lange is expected to play a crucial role in governance oversight and long-term planning, ensuring that Freightos continues to scale responsibly while remaining aligned with its founding mission of bringing transparency, efficiency, and accessibility to global trade.
Rotem Hershko: A Digital Transformation Leader with Global Reach
Joining Lange on the Freightos board is Rotem Hershko, whose career has been defined by leading complex platform transformations at two of the most influential organizations in the world: Amazon and A.P. Moller – Maersk.
At Amazon, Hershko served as Director of Product for Amazon Global, managing multibillion-dollar P&Ls across global e-commerce operations. In this role, he oversaw the development and scaling of logistics and fulfillment technologies that enabled Amazon’s massive global reach. His deep understanding of platform economics, logistics automation, and customer-centric product development helped shape Amazon’s ability to deliver efficiently at scale.
Following his tenure at Amazon, Hershko joined A.P. Moller – Maersk, the world’s largest container shipping company, as Chief Product Officer. There, he was instrumental in leading Maersk’s ambitious digital transformation efforts, working to build a next-generation digital product organization that served as a cornerstone of the company’s shift toward becoming an integrated logistics provider.
Currently, Hershko serves as a Senior Advisor at McKinsey & Company, where he continues to advise global businesses on digital innovation, logistics technology, and platform strategy.
Rotem’s transformative platform experience at Amazon and Maersk brings a unique perspective on the intersection of technology, logistics, and global trade,” said Zvi Schreiber, CEO of Freightos. “He understands how to build and scale platforms that connect millions of users and transactions, and we are thrilled to welcome him to our board at this stage of our growth. Coupled with Udo’s elevation to Chairman, these appointments mark an important inflection point for Freightos as we prepare for our next phase of global expansion.”
Commenting on his appointment, Hershko said, “Throughout my career, I’ve focused on using technology to connect people, businesses, and supply chains. Freightos’ mission to serve as the neutral, digital backbone of the freight industry is incredibly aligned with that vision. I’m excited to help shape the future of this platform as it enables more efficient, transparent, and inclusive global trade.”
Freightos: Scaling a Global Digital Freight Platform
Freightos is widely recognized as the leading vendor-neutral digital booking and payment platform for international freight. The company provides real-time quoting, booking, and management solutions for freight forwarders, carriers, and shippers through its marketplace (Freightos.com), white-labeled solutions (WebCargo by Freightos), and enterprise offerings.
As of mid-2025, Freightos has achieved 22 consecutive quarters of transaction growth, with an annualized run rate exceeding 1.5 million platform transactions. This milestone demonstrates the increasing adoption of digital tools in the logistics sector, driven by the urgent need for transparency, automation, and efficiency across the global supply chain.
Recent strategic moves have further strengthened Freightos’ value proposition. In early 2025, the company announced its acquisition of Shipsta, a digital procurement platform for logistics, enabling it to expand its capabilities in procurement automation and supply chain visibility. In parallel, the launch of Freightos Enterprise marked a new offering tailored for large multinational importers and exporters, providing enhanced tools for procurement, routing optimization, and supplier collaboration.
Freightos’ platform supports a broad range of stakeholders across the freight ecosystem, including thousands of freight forwarders, major airlines, ocean carriers, and multinational buyers. As global trade becomes more interconnected and complex, Freightos is positioned to serve as the connective tissue enabling real-time collaboration and streamlined workflows.
Governance and Leadership for the Next Chapter
The appointments of Udo Lange as Chairman and Rotem Hershko as board director come as part of a broader effort to ensure that Freightos has the strategic leadership and governance structure necessary to scale its operations globally. With a public listing on the NASDAQ and an increasingly diversified customer base, strong board-level oversight will be essential to navigate regulatory landscapes, competitive pressures, and rapid technology evolution.
These are exciting times for Freightos and for digital logistics in general,” said CEO Zvi Schreiber. “The support and insights of experienced board members like Udo and Rotem will be instrumental as we double down on our mission: to make global trade frictionless, efficient, and accessible for businesses of all sizes.”
By reinforcing its board with deep expertise in logistics, platform innovation, and digital transformation, Freightos is signaling a bold and clear intent to lead the global shift toward fully digitized, interconnected freight systems.
