Union Pacific Railroad blazoned plans moment to open a new transnational intermodal terminal in the heart of Phoenix, furnishing guests a sustainable rail option between ocean anchorages in the Los Angeles Basin and the nation’s presto-growing Southwest region.
The new terminal, possessed and operated by Union Pacific, is anticipated to open in the first quarter of 2024. It’ll be established in Union Pacific’s town rail yard, with the capacity to grow to meet client demand.
“ We’re agitated to offer indigenous shippers and receivers in Arizona a presto, sustainable rail option to move product into and out of Southern California that’s cost competitive and removes exchanges from our nation’s congested roadways, with a capability to expand immolations and grow in the future,” said Kenny Rocker, Executive Vice President – Marketing and Deals for Union Pacific.
The new installation will open with drayage support handed by Duncan & Son Lines, a family-possessed logistics establishment in Buckeye, Arizona, that primarily focuses on transnational vessel drayage from the anchorages of Long Beach and Los Angeles.

The new outstation further expands Union Pacific’s intermodal footmark, which is the largest in North America with the most direct services from seacoast to seacoast.
