Today, AutoStore™ introduced several new Grid capabilities, including the AutoStore™ Multi-Temperature Solution™, an expanded 18-Level Grid, a Motorized Service Vehicle, and enhancements to its cube control software. Building on AutoStore’s foundation of exceptional density, efficiency, and scalability, these innovations are designed to help businesses stay competitive with advanced automated fulfillment solutions.
“AutoStore is transitioning to a regular cadence of product launches, focusing on innovation and execution to better serve our customers. This fall, our new products directly address the challenges our customers face, providing them with tools to improve operational efficiency,” said Mats Hovland Vikse, CEO of AutoStore.
Parth Joshi, CPO at AutoStore, added, “We continue to lead in automated fulfillment, innovating technology to tackle complex operational challenges. Today’s announcements enhance efficiency, reliability, and speed. We’re especially excited about the Multi-Temperature Solution, which will be a game-changer for grocers and open new possibilities for AutoStore.”
AutoStore’s latest innovations include:
- Multi-Temperature Solution: This feature allows multiple temperature zones within a single AutoStore cube, accommodating both frozen and chilled environments, ranging from -25°C in frozen areas to +6°C in chilled sections. Frozen products are picked in the chilled area, creating a more comfortable environment for operators and improving speed and efficiency for frozen inventory management. Two installations are already underway—one at Haugaland Storhusholdning, a Norwegian food distributor, and another at La Réserve des Saveurs. The solution will be available for order in Q1 2025.
- Expanded 18-Level Grid: The vertical reach of the AutoStore Grid has been extended, increasing storage density by up to 12.5%. The expansion raises the Grid height to 18 levels with 330 mm Bins and 26 levels with 220 mm Bins, allowing fulfillment centers to reduce floor space by up to 11% while maintaining accuracy, flexibility, and modularity. This enhancement is available for all new Grid installations.
- Motorized Service Vehicle: Designed to improve worker safety and system reliability, this vehicle allows for easier maintenance on top of the Grid. It will be available for order starting Q1 2025.
- Cube Control Software Enhancements: AutoStore has also made improvements to its cube control software, with quarterly updates planned moving forward. These updates will enable super users to address issues proactively during breaks or off-hours, turning unplanned stops into scheduled interventions. Additionally, the Unify Analytics™ platform has been upgraded for even more comprehensive system monitoring.
“It’s been a quarter since I joined AutoStore, and we’re moving towards an exciting Product 2.0 strategy. Our goal is to solve more complex customer problems with advanced technology and a strong feedback loop. With nearly 70,000 Robots in our fleet and growing, the future is bright,” said Parth Joshi. “Stay tuned for more details at our upcoming Capital Markets Day!”
