China Eastern Airlines Introduces ‘China Travel’ Services to Elevate Travel Experience

Recently, China Eastern Airlines held a press conference at Pudong International Airport to unveil its new passenger service initiative, “Eastern E-Travel.” This series of enhanced services is designed to streamline and elevate the travel experience for passengers across three key areas: “International Passengers,” “Baggage Services,” and “Yangtze River Delta Travel.”

The “Eastern E-Travel” initiative features several innovative services, including “E-boarding pass,” “E-transfer,” “Eastern 24H-transfer service,” “E-heart service,” “Efficient declaration,” “Easy pass,” and “E-arrival card.” These services aim to eliminate the need for paper documents, significantly improving the efficiency and comfort of travel from ticket purchase to entry declaration.

Arriving passengers at Pudong Airport on China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines flights can now obtain electronic boarding passes through the China Eastern Airlines app. They can also take advantage of online self-declaration for customs information and complete their on-board entry pass digitally. Notably, for foreign tourists eligible for visa-free transit of 24-144 hours, China Eastern Airlines offers an online transit information declaration service, streamlining entry procedures and enhancing the convenience of “China travel.” Additionally, the domestic check-in counters at Pudong Airport have extended their hours to 24:00, providing round-the-clock check-in services.

In the realm of baggage services, China Eastern Airlines has introduced the “Worry-free Baggage” feature via its app, with dedicated check-in counters at 15 major domestic airports. These counters offer services such as baggage information retrieval, storage for high-value and special baggage, and additional baggage allowance purchases. Furthermore, the airline has launched a combined “bus + plane” transportation service in Yangtze Delta cities, including Suzhou, Kunshan, Hangzhou, Wuxi, and Jiaxing, expanding travel options for passengers. Eligible travelers can also benefit from a free ticket change service for all departure and arrival airports within this region when flying on China Eastern Airlines or Shanghai Airlines. This service is also available in other regions such as Sichuan, Chongqing, and Guangdong.
