CJ Logistics America, a prominent supply chain and technology firm, revealed its plan today to inaugurate an advanced cold storage facility in Gainesville, Georgia. Spearheaded by RL Cold, an industry leader in cold storage development, the project will see the construction of a 270,000-square-foot building equipped with cutting-edge Alta EXPERT Refrigeration Systems and QFM blast freezing technology, representing the latest advancements in QuickFreeze technology.
CJ Logistics America CEO Kevin Coleman emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering a seamless supply chain experience for customers as they announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art cold storage warehouse in Gainesville, Georgia.
“This new warehouse, in conjunction with our integrated transportation solutions, will significantly enhance our cold storage footprint in the Southeast. We aim to provide the companies we partner with a reliable logistics center strategically located in the heart of the nation’s protein production region,” stated Coleman.
Situated in the Atlanta market, the facility is strategically positioned in the poultry production capital of the world, offering direct access to major highways and railways, including I-985, I-85, and the Norfolk Southern railway system. Additionally, it is adjacent to the future Northeast Georgia Inland Port, establishing a direct connection to the Port of Savannah.
The cold storage building is equipped with a cutting-edge blast freezing system that swiftly brings products to desired temperatures in 24 hours or less. It features three separate storage rooms catering to different product needs, including finished goods, bakery items, and proteins. With 30,000 racked pallet positions and an on-site USDA office and inspection room, the facility is designed to meet the diverse requirements of CJ Logistics’ customers.
