JetBlue Launches Flights from Boston to Presque Isle

JetBlue has officially launched service between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Presque Isle International Airport (PQI), with the inaugural flight arriving in Presque Isle this afternoon. The new daily service provides travelers in Northern Maine and New Brunswick with convenient access to Boston and beyond.

“We’re excited to restore the long-anticipated Boston flights to Presque Isle and nearby communities,” said Dave Jehn, Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships at JetBlue. “This service highlights our commitment to delivering high-quality travel options for customers throughout New England. We also extend our gratitude to the U.S. Department of Transportation for selecting JetBlue for this Essential Air Service route.”

Senator Angus King emphasized the importance of regional airports, stating, “Maine’s local airports are vital in connecting residents and businesses to the same services and destinations available in larger population areas. Presque Isle, a gateway to Northern Maine, has a vibrant culture and industry. Essential Air Service flights from Presque Isle International Airport will connect people to global destinations for both personal and business travel.”

Congressman Jared Golden added, “Maine is known for its small towns and rugged wilderness, often located far from major airports. The Essential Air Service program is crucial to rural communities, ensuring convenient air travel for residents while bringing visitors closer to Maine’s natural landmarks like Baxter State Park, Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument, and the Allagash Wilderness Waterway.”

Presque Isle City Manager Tyler Brown welcomed JetBlue, saying, “We are thrilled to partner with a well-respected airline and look forward to the reliable service JetBlue brings to our city.”

Aroostook County Administrator Ryan D. Pelletier highlighted the economic benefits, noting, “Commercial air service is essential for economic development in rural areas like ours. We are excited about the opportunities JetBlue’s daily service to Boston will bring to the region.”

Presque Isle, located in the heart of Aroostook County, serves as a hub for business, healthcare, education, and recreation. The city attracts thousands of visitors annually with its small-town charm and natural beauty. JetBlue’s entry into Presque Isle brings its signature low fares and award-winning service to yet another New England destination. By winter, JetBlue will serve 10 destinations across the region.

JetBlue’s Strengthening Commitment to New England

This new service is part of JetBlue’s broader JetForward strategy, aimed at enhancing its presence in the Northeast. JetBlue’s growth in New England will add 20% more seats this winter compared to last year, including a 10% increase at its Boston Logan hub.

Already the top leisure carrier in Boston, JetBlue will further expand service this winter, including new routes from Portland, Maine to Orlando, and added flights from Manchester to Florida. JetBlue will also introduce its premium Mint® service from Boston to popular destinations and increase flights on key leisure routes. Currently, JetBlue serves over 70 destinations from Boston, more than any other airline, offering the most seats from the airport.
