JetBlue Offers 100 Mosaic Status for Sustainable Aviation Fuel Support

JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq: JBLU) has announced an exciting year-end opportunity for its TrueBlue and Mosaic members to earn tiles towards achieving status and unlocking exclusive perks. This limited-time offer runs until December 31, 2024, allowing customers to earn one tile for every $100 spent on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) contributions made through Additionally, these SAF contributions can be combined with other qualifying JetBlue travel expenses to help members reach their next tile milestone.

What is SAF and Why is it Important? Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) represents a groundbreaking alternative to traditional jet fuel. It seamlessly integrates into existing aircraft and airport infrastructure while significantly reducing lifecycle emissions—up to 80% compared to conventional fossil-based fuels. JetBlue has been a strong advocate for SAF adoption, doubling its SAF usage year-over-year since 2020. The airline currently sources SAF from three producers for its operations at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Soon, JetBlue will pioneer the first regular SAF supply to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Despite these advancements, expanding SAF production remains critical to achieving industry-wide sustainability goals, and customer support is crucial in fostering this market’s growth.

Partnership with Chooose for Climate Action JetBlue’s commitment to environmental stewardship extends beyond its operational use of SAF. In 2022, the airline partnered with climate tech company Chooose to offer customers a way to estimate their share of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from flights and contribute towards mitigating their impact. Contributions made via Chooose go into a fund that helps offset the higher costs associated with SAF production compared to traditional jet fuel. Today’s announcement builds on this partnership, providing additional incentives for TrueBlue members who are passionate about aviation decarbonization.

How the Year-End SAF Promotion Works Here’s how TrueBlue members can take advantage of this opportunity:

  1. For every $100 contributed via members earn 1 tile.
  2. 89.69% of each contribution is allocated towards purchasing SAF or blended SAF products.
  3. A service and technology fee of 10.31% is paid to Chooose and included in the total contribution.
  4. Members can earn up to 10 tiles through SAF contributions, with a spending cap of $1,000.
  5. Tiles earned through SAF contributions can be combined with other qualifying JetBlue travel expenses to reach the next tier.
  6. Contributions are non-refundable.
  7. Tiles earned will be credited by the end of January 2025, and any status or perks acquired will remain valid through the end of 2025.

Elevating the TrueBlue Program JetBlue recently revamped its TrueBlue loyalty program to deliver more value and flexibility to its members. The introduction of new Mosaic levels, along with the tiles and perks system, allows members to tailor their journey toward elite status. Whether members achieve Mosaic status through travel spending, JetBlue credit card purchases, or a combination of both, the program ensures a personalized path to premium benefits.

JetBlue’s Environmental Commitment JetBlue recognizes that its success depends on healthy natural ecosystems and responsible resource use. Tourism—a cornerstone of JetBlue’s business model—thrives on preserved natural destinations. This connection underscores the airline’s long-standing focus on environmental sustainability. Beyond operational measures like adopting SAF, JetBlue’s sustainability strategy engages its customers, employees, and communities to collectively reduce carbon emissions and mitigate the airline’s environmental impact.

“As we enter our sixth year of flying with SAF, we are now making it even easier (and rewarding) for customers to join us in our efforts,” said Sara Bogdan, Managing Director of Sustainability at JetBlue. “Whether you’re celebrating a great year of travel or planning ahead for next year, we’re inviting you to partner with us to help address the carbon emissions caused by flying through contributions to sustainable aviation fuel.”

JetBlue’s SAF initiative represents a significant step in the aviation industry’s journey toward a greener future. By enabling customers to contribute directly to the adoption of SAF and rewarding them with TrueBlue tiles, the airline fosters a culture of shared responsibility for environmental sustainability. As 2025 approaches, JetBlue’s ongoing investments in SAF, coupled with innovative customer engagement strategies, position the airline as a leader in eco-conscious aviation.
