GXO Logistics, Inc., the world’s leading pure-play contract logistics provider, has revealed the appointment of Jorge Guanter as the President of its Americas and Asia Pacific business. This strategic move comes as part of a succession plan, with Guanter succeeding Eduardo Pelleissone, who is set to depart GXO in March 2024. Reporting directly to CEO Malcolm Wilson, Guanter will be at the helm of managing operations in 12 countries, with a primary focus on North America.
Malcolm Wilson, CEO of GXO, expressed confidence in Guanter’s capabilities, stating, “Jorge brings a unique breadth of management and operations expertise, having led our Industrials division in North America, as well as overseeing operations in Asia, Latin America, and Mexico. His proven track record of driving sales growth and delivering outstanding customer service aligns with GXO’s commitment to excellence.”
Based in the U.S., Guanter boasts over two decades of experience in engineering, operations, and supply chain management. Since 2021, he has served as the division president of Industrials in the Americas & Asia Pacific, achieving record business wins and serving top brands such as Boeing, BP, Ingersoll-Rand, and Raytheon. Additionally, Guanter has led GXO’s International division, overseeing operations in Asia, Mexico, and Latin America. Before joining GXO, he held senior roles at Cargill and Airbus Military.
Guanter assumes his new role during a pivotal period for GXO, as the company positions itself for growth, especially in North America, following the acquisition of PFSweb, Inc. in October. This acquisition expands GXO’s offerings in high-growth verticals, including cosmetics and luxury goods across North America and Europe, along with enhanced service capabilities such as high-touch customer care, secure payments, fraud protection, and distributed order orchestration systems.
Malcolm Wilson expressed gratitude to Eduardo Pelleissone for his contributions, stating, “On behalf of the entire GXO team, I thank Eduardo for all his contributions to leading our AMAPAC business and wish him continued success. He has done a fantastic job deepening talent, standardizing structure, improving efficiency, and winning terrific new customers. He has brought tremendous passion, expertise, and energy to GXO, and we appreciate his continued support to ensure a seamless transition.”
With approximately 33,000 team members across more than 400 warehouse locations in the Americas & Asia Pacific, GXO is well-poised for further expansion under Guanter’s leadership.
