Marti Ride-Hailing Surpasses September 2025 Goals with 2.52M Riders and 357K Drivers

Marti Technologies Surpasses September 2025 Ride-Hailing Targets Early, Reaching 2.52 Million Riders and 357,000 Registered Drivers

Marti Technologies, Inc., Türkiye’s premier mobility super app, has announced a significant achievement in the expansion of its ride-hailing service. As of August 12, 2025, the company has surpassed its internal growth targets for the third quarter, reaching 2.52 million riders and 357,000 registered drivers ahead of the projected September 30, 2025 milestone.

This early success reflects Marti’s rapid growth trajectory and highlights the increasing demand for digital mobility solutions across Türkiye. The company had originally set its third-quarter targets at 2.50 million riders and 350,000 drivers. Achieving and exceeding these numbers more than six weeks ahead of schedule demonstrates both the scalability of Marti’s platform and the growing trust among Turkish users.

Strong Growth in Rider and Driver Base

Between June 3 and August 12, 2025, Marti saw a 17% increase in its active ride-hailing user base. Meanwhile, the number of registered drivers on the platform grew by 14% during the same period. These figures underscore not only the high demand for affordable and accessible transportation options but also the company’s ability to attract and retain a diverse pool of drivers.

This momentum builds on Marti’s strategic objective: to create a seamless, tech-driven mobility ecosystem that benefits both riders and drivers. By maintaining a focus on affordability, safety, and accessibility, Marti is positioning itself as a central player in Türkiye’s evolving transportation landscape.

New Ambitious Targets Set for Year-End

Buoyed by this rapid growth, Marti has updated its targets for the remainder of the year. The company now aims to reach 3.30 million riders and 450,000 registered drivers by December 31, 2025. This goal reflects confidence in both market demand and the platform’s operational scalability.

To support this continued expansion, Marti is leveraging its growing brand recognition, improving app functionality, and enhancing the driver onboarding experience. Together, these strategies aim to create a more reliable and enjoyable experience for users, which in turn drives long-term engagement and growth.

Dominance in Istanbul and Beyond

A large portion of Marti’s ride-hailing infrastructure remains concentrated in Istanbul, Türkiye’s most populous and economically vibrant city. Of the 357,000 drivers registered on the platform, approximately 266,000—over 74%—operate in Istanbul. For comparison, the city has around 20,000 taxis serving its residents, tourists, and business travelers.

This stark contrast—Marti’s driver base being over 13 times the size of the city’s taxi fleet—translates into significant benefits for Istanbul’s transportation network. With more drivers available across the city, riders experience shorter wait times and more competitive pricing. The company also emphasizes rider safety by requiring formal background checks for all drivers, contributing to an average driver rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars.

While Istanbul remains a core market, Marti is increasingly establishing a presence in other Turkish cities. This geographic expansion is a key pillar of the company’s 2025–2026 Investment Plan.

Geographic Diversification as a Growth Strategy

As part of its ongoing expansion efforts, Marti has launched ride-hailing services in six additional cities: Bursa, Konya, Adana, Kocaeli, Mersin, and Kayseri. These launches are accompanied by accelerated investments in major hubs such as Ankara, Izmir, and Antalya, where demand for ride-hailing continues to rise.

The company’s efforts are already yielding results. In just twelve months, the proportion of Marti’s riders based outside Istanbul has grown from 13% to 24%. Likewise, the percentage of registered drivers outside the city has increased from 18% to 26%. These figures highlight the platform’s expanding footprint and the potential for growth beyond Istanbul’s borders.

By tapping into a wider range of regional markets, Marti is not only diversifying its revenue streams but also contributing to economic development in underserved areas. In cities where public transport options may be limited or unreliable, Marti provides a practical, technology-enabled alternative.

The Broader Market Opportunity

According to a 2021 report by global consultancy firm McKinsey & Company, the taxi market in Türkiye was estimated to be worth between $9 billion and $12 billion. McKinsey also projected that under a “Disruptive Scenario 2030,” the ride-hailing sector could significantly expand this market by offering services that are more convenient and cost-effective than traditional taxi models.

In this scenario, the size of the Turkish ride-hailing market is expected to grow to between $15 billion and $20 billion by 2030. Marti’s early traction and ongoing expansion put the company in a strong position to capitalize on this transformation. With a first-mover advantage in many Turkish cities and a robust technological infrastructure, Marti could play a leading role in shaping the future of urban and regional mobility in the country.

Creating Economic Opportunities

Beyond serving riders, Marti is also focused on generating income opportunities for individuals across Türkiye. By offering a flexible way to earn money, the platform empowers thousands of drivers, including those seeking part-time work, supplemental income, or full-time employment. This inclusive approach contributes to the broader economy and supports livelihoods in both urban and regional settings.

Additionally, Marti’s commitment to driver quality—through safety training, performance monitoring, and customer feedback systems—ensures that service levels remain high while maintaining rider trust.

With its ride-hailing operations gaining significant momentum, Marti Technologies is entering the final quarter of 2025 with strong performance metrics and ambitious goals. Its ability to surpass growth targets ahead of schedule is indicative of effective leadership, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of the local market.

As the mobility landscape continues to evolve, Marti’s focus on technological innovation, geographic expansion, and customer experience will be key differentiators in a competitive environment. The coming months will likely be critical as the company seeks to build on its current achievements and position itself for long-term success.

For investors, policymakers, and mobility enthusiasts alike, Marti’s journey serves as a case study in how digital platforms can revolutionize traditional sectors—in this case, urban transportation—by leveraging data, technology, and user-centric design.
