Milaha Partners with NEXX and KEC to Boost AI Logistics and E-commerce in Qatar

Qatar Navigation Q.P.S.C. (“Milaha”), a leading provider of maritime and logistics solutions, has signed joint strategic memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with NEXX and KEC (Hong Kong), marking a significant step in its digital transformation and positioning Qatar as a key player in global e-commerce logistics.

Milaha’s Group CEO, Mr. Fahad bin Saad Al-Qahtani, stated, “These partnerships mark a pivotal step in our transformation journey. By integrating NEXX’s advanced AI and automation with KEC’s global e-commerce expertise, we are creating synergies that will enhance our logistics capabilities, expand international reach, and support Qatar’s emergence as a regional and global logistics hub. These agreements align with our commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and Qatar’s economic diversification goals.”

AI-Driven Automation with NEXX

The MoU with NEXX focuses on implementing cutting-edge AI-powered automation technologies at Milaha Logistics City (MLC). The collaboration will drive semi- and fully automated warehousing solutions in areas such as picking, sorting, forecasting, and order fulfillment. These enhancements will significantly improve inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and workforce productivity—laying the groundwork for a scalable, future-ready logistics platform.

Oscar Hui, CEO of NEXX, said: “Our partnership with Milaha will reshape the logistics sector in the region through a smart fulfillment center at MLC. This project combines state-of-the-art AI, premier logistics services, and strong commercial ties with China to deliver a unified, customer-centric solution.”

Global E-Commerce Integration with KEC

The MoU with KEC targets the development of logistics corridors connecting China, Europe, and the MENA region, positioning Qatar as a central node in global e-commerce supply chains. Leveraging KEC’s extensive cross-border logistics experience and established customer base, the initiative aims to tap into the booming e-commerce demand in the MENA region and beyond.

Frankie Choy, Managing Director of KEC, noted, “The MENA e-commerce market is growing rapidly, and the demand for efficient cross-border logistics is immense. Our collaboration with Milaha and NEXX enables us to deliver advanced, AI-enabled solutions that meet this demand while elevating customer service standards.”

Building a Smart Supply Chain Hub

Milaha, NEXX, and KEC will also collaborate on establishing a dual supply chain hub between Doha and Hong Kong. Key innovations include AI-powered warehouse automation, productivity and safety systems, and infrastructure upgrades to support bonded, pharmaceutical, and cold storage operations.

These initiatives will help Milaha close existing automation gaps, improve space utilization, and expand its offerings across high-growth verticals. Ultimately, this reinforces Milaha’s sector leadership and supports broader goals like the Belt and Road Initiative and Qatar National Vision 2030.
