Motive Launches AI-Powered Security Tools for Enhanced Theft Prevention in Mexico

Motive, a leader in AI-driven integrated operations platforms, has announced the launch of a groundbreaking security solution tailored for the unique needs of businesses in Mexico. This new technology aims to help fleet operators mitigate theft, recover stolen goods more efficiently, and improve overall driver safety.

“A transport vehicle is stolen every 38 minutes, and cargo theft rates are rising, with 86% of incidents involving violence last year. Motive’s new AI-powered security solution provides businesses in Mexico with the tools needed to address these challenges and better safeguard their drivers and cargo,” said Omar Camacho, General Manager of Motive Mexico.

Motive’s latest security capabilities offer comprehensive protection for vehicles and cargo through a unified platform designed to detect, prevent, and respond to threats and suspicious activity. Key features include verifying authorized drivers, immobilizing vehicles upon detecting theft, alerting dispatchers to emergencies, capturing live video feeds, and recording 360-degree footage around the vehicle. This integrated approach ensures that organizations can rely on Motive’s advanced technology to enhance the safety and security of their fleets.

New Features of Motive’s Security Solution:

  • Real-Time Alerts with Advanced GPS: Receive instant alerts when drivers enter or exit geofenced high-risk areas. The AI Dashcam’s live streaming and Follow Mode capabilities allow dispatchers to monitor real-time road activity from the Fleet Dashboard. Available now.
  • Motive Panic Button: Coming later this year, this feature enables drivers to discreetly alert dispatchers to emergencies and request assistance.
  • Motive Engine Immobilizer: Prevent unauthorized vehicle use with remote engine immobilization. Enhanced with LTE and 2G fallback options, it offers superior connectivity in remote areas to thwart theft attempts. Available now.
  • AI-Powered Cameras: Motive’s AI Omnicam provides a full 360° view of vehicles and cargo, including interior and surroundings, to aid in investigating and resolving disputes. Available now.
  • Motive Door Sensors: Detect cargo theft with door sensors that alert fleet managers to any movement and track trailer status. Available this fall.
  • Driver Identification with AI: Use the Motive Driver Identification Reader or Face Match to detect unauthorized vehicle use and potential theft, with immediate alerts for fleet managers. Available now.
  • Motive Asset Gateway Mini: Offers real-time visibility into asset location and telematics, aiding in trailer and cargo recovery while avoiding detection. Available now.

As Mexico solidifies its position as a major global manufacturing hub and key importer to the United States, Motive’s new security solution is poised to address the increasing security demands. Recent data highlights that in May 2024, 675K trucks crossed the U.S.-Mexico border, transporting $352.5 billion in goods—a nearly 40% year-over-year increase. Mexico’s imports have surpassed those from Canada for 22 consecutive months, while Chinese imports have decreased by 19.9% since May 2022.

This launch marks a significant milestone in Motive’s expansion in Mexico, following the recent opening of its office in Mexico City. Led by Omar Camacho, the new team is dedicated to delivering exceptional support and service to customers across the region, including Mexitrans Mexicana de Transporte, Global Track, Betos Trucking SA de CV, and Transcabo.
