Porter Airlines is expanding its operations in British Columbia with new flights connecting Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Kelowna International Airport (YLW), starting May 14, 2025. Initially, the airline will offer five roundtrip flights per week, increasing to daily service by June 23. This new route marks Kelowna as the third British Columbia city served by Porter, joining Vancouver and Victoria in its network. The flights will be operated using the airline’s modern 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which is known for its fuel efficiency and quiet operation—burning less fuel per seat than other aircraft in its class.
“The addition of Kelowna to our network further strengthens our growing presence in Western Canada, allowing more travelers to experience Porter’s award-winning premium economy service,” said Edmond Eldebs, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Porter Airlines. “This year-round destination offers travelers direct access to Kelowna’s stunning mountainous landscapes and the scenic beauty of the Okanagan Valley, benefiting from enhanced connections to Eastern Canada.”
Porter flights are known for their premium service, which includes complimentary beer and wine served in glasses, a selection of premium Canadian snacks, and fast Wi-Fi for streaming entertainment. The PorterReserve fare offers an all-inclusive experience, including fresh meals, flexible itinerary changes, priority check-in, extra legroom seats, and two checked bags. For more tailored options, the PorterClassic fare allows passengers to choose amenities à la carte.
Sustainability is a key focus for Porter, with the airline committed to reducing single-use plastic on board. Passengers will be served with biodegradable cups and cutlery, as well as eco-friendly packaging as part of this initiative.
“Porter Airlines’ decision to expand to Kelowna is a major development for our community,” said Sam Samaddar, CEO of Kelowna International Airport. “This new route not only enhances connectivity with Toronto but also opens up fresh opportunities for tourism and business in the Okanagan Valley. We’re excited to welcome Porter Airlines and look forward to the positive impact this partnership will bring.
