Range Energy Boosts Incentives for its 53-Foot Electric Trailer in California’s Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Project. Range Energy, a trailblazer in the commercial trucking hardware industry, announced an increase in the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) incentive for its 53-foot electric trailer, the RA. The incentive value has been updated from $80,000 to an impressive $120,000 per unit through the Clean Off-Road Equipment (CORE) Voucher Project. Range’s acceptance into CORE in July 2023 marked a significant milestone for the industry’s push toward electric trucking and decarbonization.
Ali Javidan, Range’s Founder and CEO, emphasized the importance of trailers in the electric transition, stating, “Increasing our trailer platform’s incentive value by $40,000 further solidifies that position, and makes Range a realistic near-term solution for fleet owners and operators to deploy zero emissions equipment.”
Range is driving commercial transportation electrification by developing electric-powered trailers for heavy-duty freight. These trailers, compatible with any diesel-powered truck, offer double the gas mileage while reducing NOx emissions by 67 percent.
The CORE Voucher Project, part of California Climate Investments, streamlines the process for fleet owners to deploy zero-emission equipment. Range, with its platform’s flexibility featuring battery capacities up to 300 kWh, now benefits from an extended CORE program voucher to cover its entire product lineup.
