Representative Barry Loudermilk (R-Georgia) recently paid a visit to the Yamaha Marine Innovation Center on January 8 in Kennesaw, Georgia. During his tour of the new 75,280 square-foot facility, which houses the Yamaha Marine Connected Division, Yamaha U.S. Marine Development, Yamaha Marine Product Management, and Yamaha Marine Technical Marketing, Rep. Loudermilk had the opportunity to interact with employees and gain insights into Yamaha’s current career opportunities and the company’s significant economic impact within Georgia.
In expressing Yamaha’s commitment to Georgia, Mike Chrzanowski, President of Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., stated, “Yamaha makes its home in Georgia because of the exceptional opportunities the state offers for growth and development. We employ 2,300 team members across four major facilities in the state.” These facilities include the Marine Innovation Center, Yamaha’s Marine headquarters in Kennesaw, the Yamaha Motorsports and Intelligent Machinery Group headquarters in Marietta, and the Yamaha Motor Manufacturing facility in Newnan.
The Marine Innovation Center is at the forefront of product development within Yamaha’s Marine division, currently employing 75 individuals with plans to fill an additional 30 positions in areas such as engineering, product planning, and procurement. Yamaha aims to collaborate with local universities for recruitment as they shift more development and engineering to the U.S.
During Rep. Loudermilk’s visit, Yamaha highlighted ongoing projects within the Marine Innovation Center, including the development of DockPoint™, a prototype feature of Helm Master® EX Full Maneuverability, and Siren Marine® products that enable customers to monitor and control their boats from mobile devices. The center is also actively working on new Yamaha WaterCraft vehicles and accessories.
Key Yamaha executives present during the visit included Mike Chrzanowski, Ben Speciale (President, Yamaha U.S. Marine Business Unit), Stephen Donnell (President, Yamaha Golf-Car Company), and Mike Martinez (President, Yamaha Motorsports Division).
The Yamaha Marine Innovation Center is currently accepting applications for various positions in areas such as engineering, product planning, and procurement.
