SEKO Logistics (SEKO), a global leader in end-to-end logistics, has released its second annual Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report. The report outlines the company’s progress in 2023-2024 and its commitment to achieving both short- and long-term ESG objectives.
“As we look to the future, we remain committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in sustainable freight forwarding,” said Kai Lincoln, SEKO’s Vice President of Global Sustainability. “We’re excited about the continued integration of renewable energy, low-carbon options, and further improvements to our facilities and sustainability programs globally and locally.”
Key Highlights from the Report
- Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF):
In Q3 2024, SEKO partnered with United Airlines to sign the airline’s largest single SAF contract to date. SAF, a renewable jet fuel alternative, enables significant reductions in carbon emissions while using existing aviation infrastructure. SEKO remains at the forefront of driving industry-wide efforts toward net-zero emissions by 2050 through education, advocacy, and collaboration with clients and partners. - Investments in Electric Trucks:
In November 2024, SEKO’s Hong Kong/Southern China team introduced electric trucks for pallet and less-than-container load (LCL) pickups in Shenzhen. This move reflects SEKO’s commitment to decarbonization and addressing the rising demand for sustainable logistics solutions. - Humanitarian Aid Contributions:
In partnership with the humanitarian organization Airlink, SEKO delivered 1,074 metric tons of critical supplies to 15 countries in 2023. Valued at over $3 million, these efforts provided life-sustaining aid to over one million people globally. - Eco-Friendly Facilities:
SEKO’s Australia office set a new sustainability standard by relocating to a green-designed facility. The space includes rooftop solar panels, LED lighting with sensors, EV charging stations, rainwater harvesting systems, and smart irrigation. This initiative aligns with SEKO’s goal to achieve carbon-neutral operations in owned facilities by 2030.
Leadership Commitment
“I am incredibly proud of our ongoing commitment to ESG, especially in the face of a challenging global economy,” said James Gagne, SEKO’s President and CEO. “Our path forward is clear: sustainability must underpin SEKO’s culture to drive rapid and meaningful change.”
Through its actions, SEKO Logistics is demonstrating its leadership in sustainable freight forwarding and its dedication to creating a positive global impact.
