Successful Launch of Four Spire Global Satellites on SpaceX’s Transporter-10 Mission

Spire Global, Inc., a prominent global provider of space-based data, analytics, and space services, achieved a successful launch of four satellites built and operated by Spire. The launch took place as part of the SpaceX Transporter-10 mission, originating from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

In a significant stride towards a smarter world, Spire Global, Inc. has successfully built and launched two satellites for Myriota and two satellites for Hubble Network, marking a pivotal moment in advancing secure, low-cost, and long-lasting satellite connectivity for the Internet of Things (IoT).

Myriota’s Enhanced Global Coverage: Spire’s collaboration with Myriota strengthens the latter’s global footprint, complementing its existing constellation of over 30 satellites. This expansion facilitates more scalable and reliable IoT connectivity for smart devices across the globe. Leveraging Spire’s Software in Space solution and versatile satellite constellation, Myriota aims to explore and develop space-based capabilities, ensuring enhanced security, faster data access, low-latency communication, and improved device control and firmware upgrade capabilities for its customers. The addition of seven Myriota software-carrying satellites launched by Spire in 2022 further enriches Spire’s own constellation, contributing to Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) data collection.

Contributing to ADS-B Data Collection: Spire’s commitment to building a global network is reinforced through the incorporation of these satellites into its constellation. They actively contribute to the collection of data for Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B), revolutionizing aircraft monitoring through space-based technology. This approach provides heightened situational awareness compared to traditional radar and ground-based radio systems.

Hubble Network’s IoT Mission: Additionally, Spire has crafted and launched two satellites for Hubble Network, playing a pivotal role in demonstrating the technology for Hubble Network’s IoT mission. The objective is to establish a global satellite network accessible to any Bluetooth-enabled device, even in areas with limited or no cellular reception.

Frank Frulio’s Insight: Frank Frulio, General Manager of Space Services at Spire, emphasizes the company’s commitment to breaking down traditional barriers in space access. He notes, “Our work with innovative partners like Hubble Network and Myriota exemplifies how Spire enables visionary ideas to swiftly transform into reality.” The streamlined model offered by Spire Space Services empowers companies to harness the potential of satellite technology, facilitating impactful advancements without the challenges of cost, time, or specialized knowledge in building and operating space infrastructure.

Multi-Launch Agreement with Exolaunch: These satellites were manifested through a multi-launch agreement between Spire and Exolaunch, providing access to SpaceX’s Rideshare programs via Exolaunch’s long-term launch arrangements. Spire is set to launch additional satellites on SpaceX rideshare missions later this year, further solidifying its commitment to advancing global connectivity through space-based solutions.
