The UK’s Department for Business & Trade (DBT) is enhancing the Global Supply Chain Intelligence Programme (GSCIP) in collaboration with Altana. The extended partnership aims to provide the UK Government with advanced capabilities for generating policy insights and operational programs aligned with national interests. Altana’s AI platform will serve as the foundation for the GSCIP data model, integrating government and private sector data through big data analytics to expand the secure and intelligent global supply chain map within a government cloud infrastructure.
Altana, in collaboration with the UK Department for Business & Trade (DBT), is revolutionizing the Global Supply Chain Intelligence Programme (GSCIP) through its dynamic Altana Atlas. This innovative platform enables government departments to swiftly respond to supply chain changes, fostering proactive policy development to safeguard national interests.
Over the past two years, Altana’s AI-powered platform has streamlined supply chain inquiries, significantly reducing the time it takes for DBT departments to initiate and act on findings. Evan Smith, CEO of Altana, commended the UK GSCIP as a visionary initiative for supply chain resilience, emphasizing Altana’s role in providing a comprehensive view of the global supply chain for His Majesty’s Government.
The GSCIP consortium, comprising seven UK Government departments, leverages Altana’s secure digital environment and UK Government datasets on cloud infrastructure to investigate companies, products, and trade lanes. Altana’s federated learning platform, the Altana Atlas, ensures secure data utilization, overcoming data sovereignty challenges and enabling unprecedented visibility.
Altana’s suite of tools has proven invaluable, reducing operational costs and providing rapid, verifiable insights for informed public policy. The Altana Atlas continues to support proactive supply chain resilience planning, allowing the UK Government to identify vulnerabilities and create alternative pathways.
As DBT recognizes the benefits, Altana’s technology will expand further across the UK Government, enhancing vision and interoperability. The Altana Atlas remains a key asset in shaping a smart and dynamic supply chain strategy for the UK Government’s continued success.
