New Jersey Natural Gas Takes Stride in Sustainability by Transitioning Fleet to Neste MY Renewable Diesel™, Partnering with Neste and KW Rastall”
In a move to bolster its sustainability initiatives, New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources (NYSE: NJR), has announced its transition to a new, low-emission fuel for its medium-duty trucks and associated equipment. NJNG becomes the first natural gas utility on the East Coast to integrate Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ into a portion of its fleet operations.

Neste MY Renewable Diesel is crafted from sustainably sourced, 100% renewable raw materials and can slash up to 75%* of greenhouse gas emissions compared to fossil diesel over the fuel’s life cycle. Seamless transition to Neste MY Renewable Diesel is facilitated by its compatibility with all diesel engines, eliminating the need for new infrastructure or fleet vehicle modifications.
Approximately 70 medium-duty trucks in NJNG’s fleet now operate on Neste MY Renewable Diesel, consuming around 57,000 gallons annually. This switch is estimated to curtail greenhouse gas emissions by up to 550 tons* per year, equivalent to the annual direct emissions from over 120 passenger vehicles, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator.
Neste MY Renewable Diesel holds the distinction of being the first TOP TIER™ certified renewable diesel for its exceptional quality. Its versatility allows for use in neat form or blending with fossil diesel at any ratio, ensuring optimal performance even in extreme cold conditions and extended storage periods.

Delivery of Neste MY Renewable Diesel is made possible by Neste’s long-term distributor Diesel Direct and their partnership with KW Rastall Oil, NJNG’s fuel supplier. This partnership aligns with New Jersey’s goal to reduce GHG emissions from transportation.
