(NYSE: TXT) company, has announced that Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) awarded Level D certification to a Full-Flight Simulator (FFS) recently delivered to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Queensland Section. This advanced simulator, reconfigurable for the RFDS Queensland fleet of Beechcraft King Air B200 and B300 aircraft, is the first of its kind in Australia and is housed in a new, purpose-built training facility adjacent to the RFDS base in Bundaberg.
As an affiliate of Textron Aviation Inc., the manufacturer of Beechcraft King Air aircraft, TRU Simulation designs and delivers high-fidelity training devices and full-motion simulators for both civil and defense sectors. “The Royal Flying Doctor Service is a highly respected organization that requires their pilots to be fully prepared to perform critical life-saving services,” said Jerry Messaris, vice president and general manager of TRU Simulation. “We are honored that RFDS selected a TRU simulator to support their vital mission.”

The King Air Full-Flight Simulator is equipped with Collins Aerospace’s Pro Line Fusion avionics and TRU’s REALFeel control loading system, delivering a highly realistic flight experience. It also features TRU’s REALCue motion system with a 60-inch electric motion base and an immersive visual system powered by high-definition projectors on a 200×40 degree display. The simulator’s comprehensive software package, developed by TRU, supports all four King Air variants used by RFDS, enhancing pilot preparedness and operational capability across their fleet.
